SUMMER FIESTA

A huge thank you to the PA for organising a super event which everyone really enjoyed.  The total raised was approximately £4,500.  Thank you to everyone who supported this event – it was a tremendous day.

SONGS FOR A SUMMER AFTERNOON

Please do join us for this event at 2.00 pm on Friday, 27th June in the big playground.  Refreshments will be available and let’s hope the weather will be kind!

BRITAIN IN BLOOM – PARISH EVENT

We have entered the school into the local Britain in Bloom competition.  The judges will be in school in July to see our efforts.  If any parent is able to give a little time to weed tubs with the children, that would be helpful.  We would also be grateful for donations of plants and tubs.  The school has not won the competition for a number of years so we would like to make a real effort this year.

HALL CURTAINS

We are looking to replace the hall curtains in the near future and wondered whether any parents have contacts in the soft furnishings business who might be able to come into school and give us a quote.

PARENT/CHILD SPORTS ACTIVITY AFTERNOON

It was so wonderful to see such a turnout for this event – and what talented parents we have!  We hope that you found it valuable to try some of the activities that the children access in school.

All of the equipment used was purchased with Sainsbury’s tokens that parents brought in so thank you!

SCHOOL LUNCHES

I would just like to remind parents that children are able to have a school lunch on odd days as long as they are paid for on a Monday or on the day the child has the lunch.  Please send the money in a named envelope.

The cost of school lunch is £1.50 per day.  From September, the cost of a school lunch will rise to £1.55 per day.

CONSERVATION AREA

Thank you to all the parents and staff who worked so hard in the conservation area last weekend.  Also Mr Welling and his team have worked several evenings this week and the whole area is really beginning to take shape.  Well done to everyone.

OLYMPIC WEEKS

The children have had a very exciting few weeks trying out new sports and activities.  The organisation that has gone into the weeks to make them a success has been by Miss Bennett and we are very grateful to her for all her hard work and the staff who have supported her to make this event so successful.

BOOK SHOP AND UNIFORM SHOP

The last book shop and uniform shop of this academic year will be held after school on Wednesday, 16th July.  If you have been saving up to buy a book, this will be the time to cash in your “stamps”.

PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION CORNER

Toys Bring & Buy Sale – Thursday, 3rd July

Please could all the children bring 50p into school in a named purse or envelope, along with a toy with which they no longer play. Please ensure that the toy is in good condition and is something you would be happy for your child to buy. We hope the children enjoy the sale and we raise funds for the school.  On Tuesday 1st July, SWISPA are holding a film night for any child at the school who wishes to see the film.  The film will start directly after school, and will last for approximately 90 minutes, with a short interval. Each child will be given a light snack and a drink to enjoy during the film. Please let us know if your child suffers from any particular food allergy.

Your child will not need to be picked up from school until the end of he evening at 5:00 pm. Children will be dismissed from their normal classrooms. Children can only be returned to their parent or a pre-arranged carer.

Film nights are often a lively event and we would very much appreciate your support on the night. If possible we would like 1-2 helpers from each class to assist with the care of the children and to dismiss them at the end of the evening. If you are able to help please leave your contact details with the school office.
