PARKING REMINDER

There is no parking for parents within the school grounds at any time.  A very few parents/carers are allowed to drive into school for medical reasons and this is a formal arrangement between the school and the parents concerned.  We would be very grateful for your co-operation in this matter.

Also, our Police Community Support Officer, Mr Lewis Harper would like to inform you that many cars in Abbots Avenue, Creswicke Avenue, Rangers Walk and Hunters Road are parked illegally at the beginning and end of the school day.  Beginning next week any cars parked with their wheels on the pavement and therefore obstructing pedestrians will receive a parking ticket and could potentially be towed away.  Obviously, the same will happen to cars blocking the road.

FLORA TOKENS “COOKING WITH SCHOOLS”

Flora are running a very good token scheme for schools in which we are participating.  Please do bring in any tokens you may have at home.  Thank you.

SUMMER IS HERE!!

Now that the sun is out and the temperature is on the up, please remember to send your children to school with a hat.

SCOOTERS

Please ensure that scooters are not used in the school grounds to prevent potential accidents.  Thank you for your co-operation.

MATHS AND SCIENCE FORTNIGHT

Our Maths and Science weeks have been continuing and have included an exciting session for all the children in the Explorer Dome during Wednesday and Thursday of this week.  The Dome

science shows are presented inside an inflatable planetarium Dome, last 40‑55 minutes and are grounded in the National Curriculum.  Shows involve audience interaction and lively, hands-on experiments to make science exciting, inspiring and easy to handle.

The year groups have participated in different shows:

YR - Hands-on guide to light

Light and dark, light sources and reflection, shadows and rainbows and why not to be afraid of the dark.

Y1 - Feel the Force

Making things move and slowing them down.  Includes pushes and pulls, friction, mysterious magnets and the fun of rocket power!

Y2 - Planet Earth and our environment
A trip through the hot tropical rainforest, across the desert and up to the North Pole to discover more about the natural world, food webs and how animals are adapted to their environments. Also, how people affect their environment both locally and globally and what we can do to help save the world!

PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION CORNER

THANK YOU AND WELL DONE!

Well done to everyone who supported our Sport Relief activities – we had a lot of fun on the day and managed to raise a fantastic £2200 (sale of socks made £266).

Thank you also for the support given to our non-uniform day and Easter fundraiser. The children particularly enjoyed creating the “Silver Eggs” and raised £145 for the school.

SUMMER FIESTA – Saturday 14th June

It won’t be long until our Summer Fiesta, so you know we’ll be asking for your support to make this popular event a big success.  Over the coming weeks we’ll be sending out requests for goods for our stalls and for volunteers to set up and help the classes run their stalls.  We really need and appreciate your support – so look out for our notices and please help if you can.
